Bullet-proof bed protects owner from everything

by FrEiBeRgS2002 on Apr.09, 2008, under WTF!!!, Weird News

It’s become a dangerous world we live in, so this latest invention fits in perfectly. The “Quantum Sleeper” is a bed that protects you from just about just about every hostile environment. It’s designed to provide protection from bio-terrorist attacks, natural disasters, and kidnappers… and it’s bulletproof.

The “Quantum Sleeper” weighs about a ton, and expands to about 12 feet long. It’s recommended that it be installed on a concrete slab, on the ground floor of a structure, to “resist the forces of wind and water”.

But it does come with the creature comforts you would expect from your bed, like a CD player, a DVD player with PC hookup, a microwave, and even a refrigerator.

The price tag for the “Quantum Sleeper” is around $160,000.

3rd Graders Face Charges For Alleged Plot Against Teacher

by FrEiBeRgS2002 on Apr.09, 2008, under WTF!!!, Weird News

“I don’t know what will happen then because of their age. It will be up to the juvenile judge.”

Up to nine third-graders could face unruly child charges for their alleged roles in plotting to harm or kill a teacher, Waycross, Ga., police said Tuesday.

Waycross police ended their investigation into the alleged plot involving nine children, suspended from Carter Elementary School, to hurt their teacher with a knife, the Waycross Journal-Herald reported.

“When the arrests are made, these children will be charged with being an unruly child,” Police Chief Tony Tanner said. “I don’t know what will happen then because of their age. It will be up to the juvenile judge.”

“The children’s parents were unaware of the plot and have cooperated,” he said.

“They are shocked, saddened and surprised,” Tanner said. “This is their worst nightmare.”

A classmate reported seeing a student having a knife at the school Friday before classes began. During a school-based investigation, it was learned that students of third-grade teacher Belle Carter planned to harm her.

School and police officials said a broken serrated steak knife, handcuffs and duct tape were confiscated.

Tanner said it was believed the children decided to harm Carter last week, possibly as revenge after Carter disciplined a girl in her classroom for standing on a chair.

Kid beaten over spilled milk

by FrEiBeRgS2002 on Apr.09, 2008, under WTF!!!, Weird News

Tampa, Florida – William Stephens of Thonotosassa has been arrested on aggravated child abuse over spilled milk.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Stephens was home with the victim, a 4-year-old boy and his 4-year-old sister, while their mother was at work on April 6.

During that time, the victim sustained an injury to his leg and was later taken to University Community Hospital. Stephens originally told investigators that the child must have fallen in the bathroom.

The Sheriff’s Office says medical personnel determined that the injuries sustained were not consistent with a fall.

According to detectives who interviewed Stephens, the suspect admitted that he had gotten frustrated with the victim after the child spilled some milk.

Investigators say the suspect sent the victim to the bathroom and then while still frustrated, walked into the bathroom and either kicked or stepped on the child’s leg with his steel-toed boots.

Stephens was arrested and charged with aggravated child abuse and booked into the Hillsborough County Jail.
