Timbaland, 50 Cent, Wyclef Named In Steroid Probe

by FuKdAtShHh on Jan.14, 2008, under On the News...

A year-long steroids trafficking investigation is making waves beyond the world of sports, as rappers 50 Cent and Wyclef Jean have been named in the ongoing Albany, NY based probe. The Times Union reports that singer Mary J. Blige, music producer Timbaland and author/actor/producer Tyler Perry were also mentioned by confidential sources. According to records reviewed by the Times Union, 50 Cent, Blige and the other stars received prescriptions that allegedly were signed by Dr. Gary Brandwein, a South Florida osteopath who pleaded not guilty in Albany to a felony indictment, that charged him with various drug-related crimes. Brandwein recently made news after reports surfaced that he previously prescribed steroids for deceased WWE pro wrestler Chris Benoit. He is currently free on bond.

$3 Billion Dollar Lawsuit Against Dr. Dre Dismissed

by FuKdAtShHh on Jan.14, 2008, under Muzik World

Hip-Hop producer Dr. Dre was victorious in a second lawsuit involving the controversial “Up In Smoke” tour and DVD. A $3 billion dollar invasion of privacy lawsuit against Dr. Dre over a videotaped conversation featured on the “Up In Smoke” DVD was dismissed last week. Judge John Murphy ruled that three former City of Detroit employees had no reason to believe their conversations featured on the DVD were private. The trio had a conversation with producers, asking them to refrain from showing a video that contained nudity and a gunfight to audience members during a stop in Detroit in July of 2000. They filed the $3 billion dollar lawsuit after the “Up In Smoke” DVD hit stores in December of 2000.

DMX Loses $1.5 Mil Over Rape Comments

by FuKdAtShHh on Jan.14, 2008, under On the News...

A Baltimore woman won a $1.5 million dollar default judgment against rap star DMX, who failed to show up in court and defend himself against a defamation of character lawsuit yesterday (January 10). Monique Wayne sued DMX, born Earl Simmons, who told Sister2Sister magazine that he was raped by Wayne as he slept during a 2003 stay in a hotel room in Baltimore. “She raped me,” DMX claimed. “DNA says it is (my child). I don’t know. If I did (have sex with her) I would remember. It ain’t like she’s a pretty girl.” Wayne’s mother, sister and a psychologist testified on her behalf yesterday, claiming that DMX’s allegations were false and slanderous. DMX must pay $ 1 million dollars in punitive damages and $518,000 in compensatory damages.

Kimora Lee Simmons

Kimora Lee Simmons will be the latest celebrity to pose nude in support of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), AllHipHop.com has learned. As part of the new “Be An Angel for Dogs” campaign spearheaded by PETA’s youth organization, peta2, Simmons appears holding her rescued dog Z, wearing nothing more than a pair of angel wings. The campaign launches in print magazines this month to coincide with national Unchain a Dog Month. “Kimora was a delight to work with, the consummate professional and her compassion for dogs is a big part of her life,” PETA’s Director of Media Relations Michael McGraw told AllHipHop.com. “She has rescued numerous dogs off the street and her message is an important one: never leave a dog chained outside. It’s important to bring them in and make them members of the family.

by FuKdAtShHh on Jan.14, 2008, under Muzik World, WTF!!!

Drama continues to plague Hip-Hop collective Wu-Tang Clan, as group member U-God is suing Wu Music Group, claiming the label owes him over $170,000 in back royalties. The rapper filed a lawsuit on Tuesday ( January 8 ) in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that he has not been paid advances due for the latest Wu-Tang album 8 Diagrams since signing a deal in May of 2007. U-God, born Lamont Hawkins, is also suing Wu Music for income earned from the group’s Rock The Bells Tour, a publishing deal with BMG and proceeds from the sales of Wu-Tang merchandise. “Defendant has failed and/or refused to pay certain monies currently due and owing to plaintiff, despite plaintiff’s repeated demands that it do so,” the lawsuit reads.
